CryptoStopper today announced Kevin Torner, formerly the organization’s channel director, has been appointed President of the ransomware protection company.
CEO Greg Edwards will shift operations and sales responsibilities to Torner and focus more attention on strategic development and funding objectives. That executive transition is underway and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
“I feel privileged to have earned the team’s trust and believe this move demonstrates our commitment to the channel, specifically to the MSP community,” says Torner. “Our core group is made up of both current and former MSPs, so we understand MSP challenges, especially in such uncertain times. CryptoStopper helps MSPs tackle one of the biggest threats facing their clients today, ransomware, and our technology does that in a unique and compelling fashion.”
Torner brings nearly forty years of technology and channel experience to the role. As a former executive of ETS (formerly Erb’s), he understands the challenges of building and growing a managed services company. Kevin has been actively involved in vendor channel programs over the years. He has served on the Lenovo, Lexmark, Hewlett Packard, and Oki Data advisory boards at various times and was a pioneer member of several channel communities, including Varnex (SYNNEX), Tech Select (Tech Data), and the former HTG (Heartland Technology Group)
“We are elated Kevin has agreed to take the operational helm at CryptoStopper,” says CEO Greg Edwards. “One of our major goals is to empower MSPs with our groundbreaking technology for detecting and neutralizing ransomware attacks. Between his reputation in the channel and his experience building and running a successful IT organization, we expect Kevin to drive tremendous growth in 2021 with such an innovative offering.”
